API clients
An API client is another product’s server that you connect to one organization. It can open a ticket for one of its users and list the status of that user’s tickets. It never reads a message and never acts as an agent.
Create an API client
Admins make them, in Settings → API clients:
- Click New client and name it after the product that will use it.
- Choose its scopes. A new client offers Status alone.
- Copy the secret. Kiku shows it once and keeps only a fingerprint.
| Scope | What the client may do |
|---|---|
| Open | Open a ticket for a contact, as the contact form does. |
| Status | List a contact’s tickets under one company, with number, subject, status, source and times. No messages. |
The list shows when each client was last used. Agents who are not admins do not see the page.
Revoke an API client
Delete it from the same page. The product is refused from its next request.
